Porcelain fused to metal crowns have been the mainstay for cosmetic dentistry for many years.  They have come a long way and still are very reliable and predictable crowns with high esthetic possibilities.  Dr. Bonin prefers to use these restorations on posterior teeth, mainly the molar regions, and utilizes Captek® Crowns when he can.

Some of these beautiful full coverage restorations have no metal in them at all. Instead of metal, these unique crowns utilize the strength and esthetic properties of zirconium oxide as the supporting structure for the porcelain.  Dr. Bonin utilizes several brands to please his patients including Emax®, Lava®, and Prismatik.®.
